Movement is Medicine
Get the routine bodywork you need to keep doing the activities that you love.
From Sam Farnsworth:
I approach orthopedic massage as a lifelong athlete, experiencing the joys of movement and the setbacks of injury. As time has passed, I’ve realized that repair and restoration are vital throughout our lives. Massage has helped me restore and reset my awareness of improved muscle function and movement.
I’m a Bancroft School of Massage graduate. I also hold Bachelor’s degrees in Business and Environmental Science.
Through the years I’ve enjoyed many activities including: trail running, triathlon, mountain biking and hiking. I am also a NSCA-Certified Personal Trainer and a UESCA Ultramarathon Coach.
MY APPROACH
My goal is to keep YOU moving, minimize your discomfort and maximize your range of motion.
Movement is medicine.
As an attentive, insightful practitioner, I will work with you to understand what your body needs for restoration and pain management. Together, we’ll determine the sources of your discomfort, design your treatment, and explore opportunities to improve your movement and overall physical condition.
As a Certified Personal Trainer, I can supplement your massage and bodywork with stretching and strengthening exercises to improve movement.

Is Massage for You?
Movement patterns can become ingrained in the body. Some patterns produce less than perfect results and can lead to pain. If you are injured, in pain or over extended, take the time to recover and work towards patterns that do not produce pain. You are more capable of caring for others when you manage to take care of yourself first. Start making time today.
With an extensive understanding of human anatomy and expertise in a number of treatment techniques, massage can help most physical conditions. Treatable conditions include, but are not limited to: osteoporosis, tennis elbow, back pain, sciatica, plantar fasciitis, neck pain, stroke, parkinsons, fibromyalgia, scar tissue, migraines, depression, dementia, carpal tunnel…
Never had a massage before? Sam will introduce you to the process and work within your level of comfort. This means you keep on as much clothing as you like. It also means that massage does not have to hurt in order to be effective.
On a budget? Let’s talk about what works for you. Even a few sessions can lead to significant improvement.
